❤️ Mon coeur, which is French for “my heart,” and this bottle has plenty of soul.
Some wines are made to impress. Jean-Louis Chave 'Mon Coeur' Côtes-du-Rhône feels like it was made to be shared—over a long dinner, on a first date, with old friends, or anywhere the night might take you.
Behind the bottle is one of the Rhône Valley’s great winemaking families. The Chave family traces its winegrowing history to 1481, and Jean-Louis represents the 16th generation. After studying enology at UC Davis, he returned to the Rhône and joined his father, Gérard, in 1992, eventually carrying forward a family name famous for its legendary Hermitage wines.
Mon Coeur brings that heritage into a younger, approachable Côtes-du-Rhône expression. Depending on the vintage, it centers on classic Rhône grapes such as Syrah and Grenache, delivering a generous and expressive wine that retains its savory French character.
In the glass, expect seductive layers of black cherry, blackberry and ripe plum, followed by touches of violet, black licorice, peppery spice, herbs and earthy minerality. It's dry, smooth and richly flavored, with enough freshness and tannin to keep you coming back for another sip.
At the table: think lamb chops, steak frites, roasted chicken, duck, charcuterie, mushroom dishes, burgers or a late-night wood-fired pizza. This is the kind of red that doesn't need a formal occasion—just good food and even better company.
If your usual move is Cabernet or Pinot Noir, consider this your invitation to wander into the Rhône Valley. Old-world history, serious winemaking pedigree and a bottle called "My Heart"—what's not to fall for?
